Dogs typically sleep for 13-14 hours of the day. Some breeds, such as Saint Bernards and Bernese Mountain Dogs, sleep for longer. In the wild dogs have to conserve lots of energy for the demands of their tough daily life so they have adapted to be able to sleep when they need to. i.e when there is nothing to do dogs can sleep.

Dogs can easily adapt their sleep cycle to your lifestyle. When they aren’t doing something they will sleep instead.
