Guinea pigs only eat plant-based foods. They are grazers, like miniature sheep, enjoying a diet based on grass and hay, with some veg and fruit and a good fortified guinea pig dry food mix. They have specific nutritional needs, and are unable to manufacture their own vitamin C. Including this in their diet is therefore vital.
