Male and female hamsters tend to have quite different personalities, although the degree to which this is true depends on the species. These are some of the key differences:
SyrianMales tend to be more easy-going, with females generally being more boisterous and characterful. Females are usually larger than males, but both genders are extremely solitary and territorial, so will need to be kept on their own after the age of five weeks old. Female Syrian hamsters tend to be smellier than males, mainly when they go into heat (which is every few days).
Syrian hamsters have distinct traits based on gender
There is no major personality difference between the genders of Chinese hamsters. They are the same size, too. They can also be kept in pairs, although two males get on better than two females, while a male and female will mate all the time. They still need separating, permanently, if fighting breaks out. Dwarf varieties
Winter White
There is little size difference between the sexes. Some experts recommend that owners intending to keep more than one of these hamsters should opt for males, as they seem to have fewer fall-outs.
There's not much size different between the genders of Dwarf varieties such as this Russian Campbell
Less is known about Roborovski hamsters in general, but so far there is little to suggest much difference in temperament between the sexes, be it size, temperament, or otherwise.

There is no significant size difference between the sexes. However, like many other hamster species, if you are keeping more than one hamster of this species, it’s best to stick to males, as females tend to fight more.
