Like most other animals, your rabbits will be a lot happier if they have some sort of daily routine which they can follow. Even simply checking up on their food and water at the same time each day will reinforce their feeling of a routine.
Every day, your rabbits will need the following:
A quick fresh-up of their home
You should clean out their dropping tray on a daily basis. Leaving such waste for too long will create an unpleasant atmosphere for your rabbits and could even cause some serious health problems, such as flystrike. The Eglu Hutch for rabbits is very easy to clean, so this task shouldn’t take you long at all. You can find out more about this in our Rabbit Hutches section.
Rabbits are easy to look after with just a few daily tasks and check-ups
A water bottle and refill check
Your rabbits will need access to clean water at all times. So alongside cleaning out their water containers each week, you should check if it is topped up and working on a daily basis.
Food and bedding refills
You will need to replenish their food and their bedding if they’ve eaten a lot of it. The Eglu has a special integrated water and hay holder, so that you can bring the food and water inside to refill them.
A general health check
Your pets won’t need a full medical check-up each day, but you will have to make sure that everything is in order. Make sure that they are breathing properly, that they aren’t hurt or injured, that they are eating as they should and that there is nothing stuck in their fur. You will need to check their rear end in the summer for any build up of poop, as this can attract flies and cause a very serious condition called flystrike.
You will also need to check up on their behavior, are they scared, do they look like they're in distress? As you get to know your pet you’ll be able to tell when there is something wrong with them or when they are happy and healthy.

Just put an old towel in there cage, They will pull on it and it entertains them. If your rabbit is molting, just get a damp towel and rub them down. They love to play with toilet rolls when all gone.
