Winter is the ideal time for wooly jumpers and hats, and rabbits don’t mind it either - they come equipped with their own warm fur. However, during this time of year they will rely solely upon you for food, bedding hay and water. SO don’t forget to visit them twice a day.

Water will freeze if left out in the cold, frozen water is no use to your rabbits. If you keep your rabbits outdoors, remember to check their water every morning and evening and replace it if it has frozen over. It is a good idea to have a spare water bottle that can easily be swapped out so you don't have to wait for the ice to thaw beforehand.

Cold Comfort - rabbits need to be kept warm and well-fed in the winter months

Don't be surprised by your rabbits eating more in the chilly months. They are using up lots of extra energy to keep warm. Keep an eye on their weight though to make sure that they aren't pretending to shiver when you are about so that they get extra treats!

Unlike other rabbit hutches, the eglu will keep your pets nice and warm during the winter as it comes with all-round insulation. Just make sure that their bedding is fresh. If it gets very cold, bring your rabbits indoors.
