I got a 2ND Auto-Door
Heather, Washington,
I received my first Omlet Universal Automatic Chicken Coop Door in May 2021. I didn’t have fresh batteries when I initially installed the door on the coop and the old batteries caused programming and sensor errors. The auto-door worked perfectly once I replaced the old batteries with fresh batteries and re-set to the factory default programming. The chickens love getting to free-range early in the morning and I love having a sleep-in without getting up to let them out. I like the door so much that I ordered a second one too add to the henhouse which exits into their run in order to manage what time the chickens wake up and make noise. This way they will stay quiet in the henhouse until the door opens in the morning. The second door opens to release them to free-range outside the run. The door was simple to install and easy to operate. I also like the coop light that I ordered along with the door. It is powered by the battery pack for the door. The batteries have been in use for 4 months and are about 80% as of September 18. I would highly recommend the Omlet Universal Automatic Chicken Coop Door and accessory light.

Gives me peace of mind!
Kara, Ohio,
We purchased this auto door for our new coop as we like to travel from time to time. I am so glad that my chickens be able to be out and about first thing in the morning and closed in safely at night. It was a breeze to install. My teenage son did it himself in about 15 minutes. It was already programmed and is easy to figure out. Thankful for a great product!

Fantastic self opening chicken coop door
Corine, NSW,
I’m so happy that we bought the automatic coop door for our new henhouse, no more closing or checking up if they are locked in or able to get out. We went a step further and connected a solar panel with battery today so we can go on mini holidays without worrying about them. Great product, highly recommended.

AC power + separate controller = PERFECT combination!
Frost, Minnesota,
I have been using this product for about 3 months so far. Over the years, I have tried other automatic doors on my home built chicken coop, but I have 2 main challenges: 1. I live in Minnesota where wired AC power is a huge advantage in winter months. 2. My coop is designed in such a way that any automatic door must be mounted INSIDE the coop. Other automatic doors are usually only powered by alkaline batteries that freeze and die in extreme Minnesota winter temps (-30F, -34.4C). However, the Omlet Universal Automatic Chicken Coop Door has an option to use an AC power adapter instead of batteries. The DC transformer has a barrel plug that connects inside the controller. This powers both the drive and the controller from a single power source. Also, other automatic doors are often designed with the drive (motor) and controller (sensors, processor) as part of a single unit, so they can only be mounted OUTSIDE a coop in order for the light sensor to work properly. Fortunately, the controller for the Omlet Universal Automatic Chicken Coop Door is separate from the drive unit, connected by an umbilical cable. This flexible design gives you the freedom to mount the door inside the coop while the controller stays outside, exposed to sunlight. Even better, the door itself slides horizontally, which takes up the smallest footprint on the coop wall, and because it's self-contained in its own frame, it's so much easier to install over other automatic doors. It also has safety sensors that very few other automatic doors have. The controller is simpler and easier to use than other automatic chicken doors. My coop already has windows and an overhead light, but if yours is dark, the Omlet coop light is a nice extra, and simply plugs into the door controller. It's just a really good design, and the entire experience, from installation to operation, is enjoyable. I mounted my controller outside, above the arched doorway of the coop. I mounted the Omlet automatic door inside the flat coop wall, then built a simple box around the door chassis to keep it clean. It's practical, and maintenance-free.

Easy to snap on and secure, no tools needed
Lars,
I purchased this in addition to the auto coop door so I could have a clean and secure install of the auto door system. It is sturdy, machined well and secure. I did watch a video on where it was best clamped on the Eglu roof and that made a big difference.
