bamboo warps and cracks, even with wood oil applied
Love the freestyle tree in general but the bamboo hammock platform is not a sound design. Omlet says cracks on untreated bamboo will be small and insignificant, but they are large and make a loud sound and warp the shape, at least in my climate. I asked for a treated replacement but customer service kept sending untreated before they did their research to find out it's not available treated like the solid platform. Instead Omlet is choosing to pass on the work and expense to their customers to put wood oil on it, citing "environmental reasons" for using up their untreated supply (not seeing that the process of all their customers buying wood oil uses up environmental resources as well?). Even when I sent links to my online photo galleries showing how bad the first two untreated platforms were and expressing skepticism that wood oil would help, nobody would acknowledge there was a problem. I applied copious amounts of wood oil immediately to the third platform, but the cracks and warping are just as bad. Kitty doesn't like touching it. Very disappointing product and process.

Not An Ideal Standalone Hidey Without Doing Some DIY
I was looking for a two-way corner hidey and this one appeared to be perfect. However, the design is not the best if you intend to use it as a standalone hidey. The reason for this is that it is designed to connect other combinations such as tunnels and platforms. As a result, you get four rather large elevated holes on the bottom of each corner on a ledge that is pointing to the inside. Guinea pig's feet/toes could easily get stuck in there. Having such ledge there is also not convenient if you are already intending in using absorbent fleece underneath, which then does not use its entire surface. Also, the entrances are way too sharp.
The solutions I found to make it work as a standalone hidey are the following:
Use a sharp ‘thin’ knife to cut away the inside facing ledge so that the holes are gone. Then go around the entrances to make it less sharp/thicker with the same knife. You could veil it as well to make it smooth. But my experience thus far is that my guinea pigs start to bite the entrances from time to time and you have to keep cutting the newly occurred sharp edges again and again. This is a small effort though.
Due to it being entirely made out of plastic, it is also a more suitable hidey for outdoor use than it is for indoor, where I am actually using it.
I recommend to not use it as a standalone hidey unless you are willing to do some DIY on it as outlined above and as can be seen in the image.

Great Except For One Unfortunate Control Box Decision
I bought this door with the attachment kit for my Eglu Cube Mk I. Install went great. I live in Texas so my chickens like to stick their heads out of the door at night for some fresh air, and the blockage sensor works perfectly.. so much so that it is too gentle to encourage them to stop doing that. I don’t want to murder them, but if it could just .. strangle them a little, that would be better. As is, sometimes the ladies will just sit there and get smacked by the door three or four times until the door gives up and stays open and I have to manually remove the birds. Thankfully, they’ve mostly learned not to do this anymore. I just wish the door would offer a setting so I can specify how many times I’d like it to retry closing until it gives up. If I want it to keep trying until the battery dies, I should be able to specify that and it should do it. This is basically the crux of my problem with the door, the control box sucks. My main issue with the control box is that when you’re operating on light sensing mode, when it reaches the desired light there is a 20 minute delay before it actually opens by default. It is programmed in such that you cannot change it. There is a delay function you can use which will ADD TIME to the already too long 20 minutes, but you cannot reduce it below that. I understand why they did this. It’s because they want to be sure that the light being perceived by the sensor is true and not just an anomaly such as a torch/flashlight so it doesn’t accidentally open in the middle of the night. I get that, but instituting a 20 minute delay that is impossible to alter is an absolutely boneheaded decision. 5 minutes would’ve been enough. 2 minutes probably would’ve been enough. If you absolutely must protect customers from their own stupidity, which I also understand, make it a function you can change but put it behind a “Are you sure?” and then an “Are you REALLY sure?” prompt. To make an arbitrary and very long mandatory waiting period like this which is hard coded into the unit is just terrible design, period. I like everything else about the door, but I wish they would give me the freedom to use the door I bought the way I want to. In the programming instructions it talks about setting the door to open at dawn. That cannot be done ever. You know why? Because 20 minutes after the sensor first detects a light level over 1 is NO LONGER DAWN. I gave this 2 stars because I like the actual door itself so much in spite of the awful programming. Truly, the programming alone deserves 1 star, but I just love the rest of it so much I had to give it another. It could be so great, but it isn’t. Why, Omlet?

Good and bad
Chickens loves it and they treating it as a perch. Where do chicken love to sleep? On the perches! So they abandoned the house and started to sleep on this perches. It was Ok in the summer, we let them sleep outside. Now it is getting colder but they refuse to go to the Omlet house. At the momemt we take them one by one and place in the house for the night. Not sure how long it will continue

Needs bottom fencing
I love the design of the cage and it fits in beautifully with the rest of our home. My biggest problem is that it doesn't have the metal fencing at the floor of the cage, as other generic cages do, to keep the birds from constantly stepping in their own poop. Even if I stayed home from work and cleaned the floor of the cage every hour, it would still have poop in it (I have 2 birds). My birds step in it and sometimes even try to eat their poop - really bad for my baby lovebird. If Omlet came out with an add on to place at the bottom creating a barrier between the floor and where birds walk, I would DEFINITELY buy it and have no complaints. I see some people fill their cages with sand, but even then I'd imagine it gets full of poop extremely often. I hope that Omlet's design team sees this review and comes out with a bottom piece, as I've seen them be very interactive with commenters!

Mixed Feelings
I bought this a few weeks ago for our two new guinea pigs. We have a fair amount of wildlife in our garden so I was searching for something that was 'predator / fox' proof. In hindsight, I believe I focused too much on this element and not enough on some other important considerations.
Eg. once the house is closed, its completely dark in there.. theres no happy medium its either all or nothing interms of door open or closed. The ability to move the pen around the garden is tricky and the house is really damaging on the grass. Im sure the wheels and handle would help with that somewhat but it still is heavy on the grass.
In hindsight, I wish we'd have bought a static hutch and a moveable run for the garden.

Great product but unfortunately our dog doesn't think so!
Bought this a few weeks ago but our dog just hasn't taken to it - he will literally sleep anywhere but in the new bed. We are trying to encourage him to use it - fingers crossed we are successful.

Brilliant concept but with product design issues.
This hutch system could be fantastic but there are some design flaws that make it awkward to live with and in some respects somewhat unsuitable. I suspect that seasoned rabbit keepers will know this but to us to us newbies, we overlooked some obvious issues.
The overall quality and aesthetic definitely beats everything else out there and the hutch is very well built and secure. I have no worries about its ability to keep foxes and cats out, which was a main priority for us. It's also easy to move around so we can keep our lawn in good condition by just moving the hutch and run a few feet every couple of days. The problems become apparent however upon day-to-day use.
The construction process is difficult. I strongly recommend anyone who buys this to use the YouTube video to guide them as this saved the day for us - the instructions are very long-winded, its extremely fiddly and complicated and the plastic connectors for the run do have a tendency to break. I think this product should therefore come part-constructed or there should be an option for an installation service.
We have quickly realised that our rabbits point-blank refuse to use the hutch area for anything other than a toilet and prefer to sit outside in the pouring rain and wind, day and night. This means we've had to add another shelter in the run for them to use to keep out of the weather which seems like madness. No amount of trickery with food placement and relocation of litter trays to other areas has altered this behaviour, meaning we're therefore left with what is essentially a £325 rabbit toilet attached to a rabbit run. I also have no idea why the hutch section has not been designed with a window as, on the occasions that we lock the rabbits in there to clean the run or force them out of bad weather, they're inside a small, pitch black box.
Cleaning the hutch area is hindered by the fact that the plastic tray on the bottom of the hutch is moulded with shapes that make it very difficult to scrape out or tip into a bin. I have no idea what these shapes and contours are for as they serve absolutely no beneficial purpose that I can see. Further, the sides of the bottom tray do not have lips that are raised enough to prevent sawdust and litter falling over the sides when you remove it. The lid also doesn't come off the hutch so the only way to get inside the hutch to wipe it out is via the rear door and on your hands and knees. We now limit the amount of sawdust/hay that we put in there to the extent that there is a minimal amount of litter that can spill when we remove the tray in the mornings. This seems a shame though given that it's supposed to be a cosy hutch area for the rabbits to sleep in at night.
In summary, I think the hutch area needs to be a different shape, possibly with a wider footprint so that you can separate litter area from food and sleeping more easily, potentially attracting them in there. It should also have a window and a removable lid. I also think that the tray on the bottom the hutch needs to be flat and have more pronounced edges to stop litter falling out when you remove it.
Another issue we have is down to the door placement on the run. When constructing the run you are given the option to have the door at the end furthest away from the hutch or on the side. We opted to have the door at the end, mainly so the kids can access the run more easily and feed the rabbits. The problem with this of course is that there is now an unreachable area within the run at the other end and near to the hutch door. This makes cleaning this area extremely difficult as there is physically no way of reaching it without dismantling the entire system. In short, another door would be an extremely useful addition.
All in all, this is a well built, good looking product that we have no doubt will protect our rabbits from predators and looks good in the garden. However there are a number of refinements that I believe are required to make this product what it should be given the money that it costs. The concept is brilliant but there are some product design issues that really should be considered.
